La Jolla

Today I went to my favorite place, La Jolla.  The reason I want to move to SD.  I hiked Torrey Pines like Chris and I had the last time we visited San Diego in 2013.  We came out for a pharmacy conference for Chris's job and I tagged along.  His boss and colleague Sheryl was also on the trip.  We stayed in the "Gaslamp" district downtown and close to the convention center, where the conference was.  Sheryl either rented a car or borrowed her friend's, which is how we were able to get to Torrey Pines and La Jolla which is about 15 means outside the city.  I had a great day hiking all the various trails at Torrey Pines.  The terrain there is very desert like with gorgeous cliffs overlooking the ocean.  One of the trails you hike down to the beach with black sand and sandpipers.

After the hike, I walked along the beach.  The water was warm and the waves were rough.  The shores of the Pacific are so incredibly different from the East coast, rocky and aggressive.

After Torrey Pines I went to La Jolla a town far too rich for my blood.  There are a. Inch of boutiques and shops all around La Jolla.  I walked up and down the block but was covered in sand and didn't feel right about going into many of the stores.  I had some dinner outside and then went to the park to watch the sunset.  In Ocean Beach last night the sunset was gorgeous but the pier blocked some of the view I was excited to see it tonight but it got stuck behind clouds, I guess there is always tomorrow.

Tomorrow I am going to finally check out yoga in the morning and then head to the SD Beer Fest downtown....arooo woooo!!!!
